  1. We also had a similar experience with Swan Housing regarding our shared ownership property in Priors Green, Dunmow, Essex. It took us 7 months to sell our property, which was 7 months from (3rd) offer. The months were very stressful and Swan housing were particularly unhelpful at every stage, they charged us for paperwork that they failed to provide when we moved in. My advice is don't go near shared ownership property in the first place, especially with Swan Housing, also expect 100% responsibility with 0% rights and poor overpriced services provided by Swan AXIS. Try and save a little more for a deposit if possible or rent - Anything is better than a life of Shared ownership with Swan housing. For those of you who have yet to sell your property, get it on the open market as soon as possible, which is after the association have tried and failed to sell your property as is part of the sales contract. The main issue you will be faced with is getting your buyer to understand the Swan Housing/MOAT/Shared ownership system, make sure you get a good estate agent who can explain this system to potential buyers and filter out any time wasters who may not even be eligible for the scheme in the first place and make sure their approved for a shared ownership mortgage in advance. you will have to fight every step of the way as we did, but hopefully you will come out of it a little wiser in the future. We have learnt the hard way.
